Physics and Natural Disasters Towards Preparedness”

(Tornadoes in Bukidnon)

Many people wonder how this natural disasters happen. Can these phenomenon can be predicted? How can we prevent or lessen the effects of this natural disasters?

Nowadays, many scientists are making experiments to give more information on this natural disasters. How do they occur? What can we do to lessen the effects of this natural disasters?

My Blog is about the relationship of physics to natural disasters towards preparation of the effects of this natural disasters. The main topic of my Blog is about Tornadoes. How they occur? What are the effects of this phenomenon? How can we lessen the harmful effects of this natural disasters?

Natural disasters are common at our place. One of the natural disaster that hit once in our place was a tornado. It nearly wipe out one Barangay and it also destroyed many livelihood that most of the people depend on their living.

What is a Tornado?

A tornado is a violent rotating column of air extending from a thunderstorm to the ground. The most violent tornado are capable of massive desruction with the wind speed up to 300 mph. They are capable of destroying buildings, trees and could also hurl vehicles from hundreds of yards away.

What are the Causes of a Tornado?

  1. Tornadoes are formed when hot air and cold air are mixed in the atmosphere.

  2. The clouds grow larger and larger then finally, a thunderstorm is brewed up with a strong updraft.

  3. The moisture in the warm air rises and condenses ino large clouds.

  4. Then a huge funnel of air forms into the atmosphere and destroys everything in its path.

What are the Effects of a Tornado?

Tornadoes can bring massive destruction on the environment. Tornadoes can make people die and can destroys a lot of homes, stores and other buildings. It can also bring serious injuries to people because of the flying debris.

We can make online discussion groups using our blogs to share more ideas with other people to expand our knowledge in the fields of our specialization. We can also use our blogs as an online reference so that we can get important information easily.

  • How to use my Blog in a unique way of learning?

To make use of my Blog, I will ask our ICT teacher to make an online class with the use of our Blogs. We can have our classes online so that we can also experience the new way of learning and teaching with the use of the internet.
